/Gotcha Day/

It's Gotcha Day y'all!  We will do our best to update throughout our adventure today!

Last night we stayed up late to decorate!  We wanted Ryan to know that it was a special day as soon as he woke up!
We woke up like it was Christmas morning and waited anxiously until an appropriate time to wake him up- there's a change of pace!
Update: First stop of the day is breakfast at one of our favorite brunch places-First Watch! 
Update: After breakfast we ventured to Build-a-Bear. We wanted Ryan to have something tangible to help him remember the day!
Update: After it was all official we decided to venture to Sea Life Aquarium. 

We ended the day with a great dinner surrounded by the people who helped make this last year enjoyable and survivable.  We do not overlook how blessed we truly are.

Who do you think you talk to the most each day?  Your husband, your kids, coworkers?  Who would've thought that the person you talk to the most is yourself .  Our internal (and let's face it, sometimes external) conversations shift how we view the world and influence every part of our lives- relationships, achievements, attitude and ultimately our level of happiness. When I first Read Whole30 , I'll be honest to say that I was totally turned off by the no scale  rule.  How in the world could I possibly hold myself accountable and judge my level of success (and level of worthiness) without stepping on the scale?!  The Whole30 program focuses on non scale victories (NSV).  Is your skin clearer?  Do your clothes fit better?  Are you getting better sleep?  Do you feel more energized and focused?  Pssshhh.  I told myself over and over that NSV victories are load of hogwash.  They are the consolation prize for not actually l...

[season 3; trip #3]

memorial day weekend: bennett spring / lebanon KOA; arrive saturday, depart monday it's the wednesday after memorial day and we're just 2 sleeps and a wake up from our next adventure. this friday we're heading back to my original stomping ground in north-central missouri. there's a nice rv park with some fun things to do that's only about 10 minutes from the town i grew up in. i'm looking forward to seeing some family and taking another weekend to "slow down fast".  since we're getting into the meat of the season i'm excited to do that more and more in the coming weeks. it's the real reason i love taking our travel trailer out. slowing down and reconnected with self, nature, and family feel so necessary and refreshing. i remember spending hours at state park campsites as a child doing...well, nothing. not literally nothing, but nothing in comparison to regular life. the nothingness is powerful. there is beauty in just BEING...
