{Foster Parenthood}

Hi, ya'll!  I can't BE-lieve it has been so long since our last blog post!  So many changes and the biggest came today!

Drum roll please..........

We welcomed our first foster kiddo into our home today.  We received a request last week to host this little fella but were unsure because we were committed to directing the youth at our church camp for the week.  After working out the details we were able to go to camp, arrive home yesterday, and pick the little dude up today.  Needless to say it was a crazy week.

While we can't share an abundance of information about our new roommate or post pictures online, we don't want to leave our family and friends in the dark.  We look forward to journaling the trials and triumphs as we journey through this process.  We feel incredibly blessed and only seek to share what we have and believe with those around us!

We had several moments today where Ty and I just had to look at each other and laugh.  It was either that or cry--but I try to always choose laughter.  We aren't sure we know what we are doing but we have a simple goal in mind----give him the best possible experience while he waits for his forever home.  We are truly walking in faith.

Top 3 moments of today:

3.  The new roommate blew bubbles outside while the dogs chased them.  Happy kid.  Tired dogs.
2.  Playing in the sprinkler.  He was very entertaining to watch.
1.  Showing him his new room.  Such a sweet moment.  Yes buddy, all of this stuff is for you!

We have had an i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e out pour of support and generous donations for coworkers, church members, and family members.  Thank you.  You have no idea the impact you are having.  We know that our new roommate will not stay forever, but while we have him we want him to see God's love and light through the way we guide him.

Tomorrow is another day.  Since we are figuring out this whole parenting thing minute by minute, I am sure that I will have more to blog about.  I promise to write another entry without letting another 6 months pass!
